Introducing the iPod Touch
By: Darren Williger
A lot of people have spent time drooling over the iPhone and the features that it offers. In the whole euphoria of the moment some might have forgotten the new release from the iPhone manufacturer Apple. Apple recently launched a new multimedia player with the same features as the iPhone lacking of course the phone feature.
The iPod Touch is the newest of all the devices in the iPod family, it offers a Wi-Fi version of the iTunes Music Store, so that an individual is able to buy songs regardless of where you are located. You no longer have to wait until you get home to your computer in order to get the new tunes which you need. The storage capacity is also a pleasant surprise offering an amount of storage that cannot be contested with.
The iPod comes a lot skinnier the iPhone which, by the way is the same size as the original iPod), it measures a mere 4.3 by 2.4 by 0.3 inches, making it both easy and convenient to carry. With a 3.5-inch multi-touch widescreen with a resolution of 480-by-320, and 163 pixels per inch, it’s also easy to use. Plus it only features a single button. Your fingers do the rest. One drawback of the iPod Touch is that it doesn’t feature a camera like the iPhone.
The problem of navigating through the music, video and photo menus is solved. Everything is rather simple; the navigation allows the users to scroll down easily through artists, albums and playlists when it is in vertical mode. In the horizontal mode it allows users to take advantage of the Cover Flow feature. As soon as you have chosen the songs you want to listen to, all you have to do is press it and you're instantly listening to your favorite tunes.
The greatest feature of the iPod touch is the double click. By pressing it twice the music controls will appear over any screen mode which you are in. It's a great way to skip the songs that you detest and increase the tempo on the ones which you love.
If you lose your Wi Fi signal in the course of your download, you shouldn't bother. The iPod Touch will register your previous location prior to the signal loss and start the download from where you stopped as soon as the signal comes back or regains its strength.
With its Wi-Fi capability, iPod users can now buy their music quickly and easily no matter where they are. That’s a feature users have been waiting years for. And, Starbucks lovers will especially like the feature, which enables them to download the music playing while they are waiting for their coffee in the morning.
With so many cool features available, it’s no wonder that the new iPod Touch is becoming the absolute must-have iPod ever. New iPod owners are relishing their acquisitions while people who haven't got one are bound to be headed for the stores.
