By: iPod Maven

Athletes of all kinds have used music as a means to enhance workout and also to relax after periods of strenuous exercise. With a number of new innovations it is also possible to take your music along with you while on a run or while going to the gym, all this comes with using the Nike iPod Sports Kit.

People who listen to music during a workout tend to work much harder and longer and this fact comes from fitness trainers. With all this you can let your iPod help you train better, workout better and get fit and healthy as well. When Nike got together with iPod to create the Nike iPod Kit, it was for the world of music as well as sports. The kit is based on a wireless system that allows Nike+ footwear to talk with your iPod® nano. When it was launched, the world of sports changed forever.

What the Nike + iPod kit was designed to do was to offer people who love running, a better running experience. It actually seems to have succeeded in doing this for all runners around the world. It also does the same thing for average runners and workout enthusiasts as well.

By working with each other in order to take music and sports to new levels, Nike and Apple, the makers of the iPod have brought the benefit of having a personal coach or training partner right there along with every runner. This is all in a bid to motivate them through every phase of their workouts.

With the Nike+ footwear connected directly to your iPod Nano, you can easily get information on time as well as distance, calories burned and your pace stored and displayed on your iPod screen. You can also get real-time audible feedback from your headphones.

For those who want to create an even greater workout experience, you can also get a new Nike Sport Music section on the iTunes® Music Store, plus access to www.nikeplus.com, a personal service site designed to help maximize the Nike iPod experience.

Other than the ability to incorporate time, distance and burned calories, the kit can take workouts to the next level and keep you on track as well.

Nike has also come up with a number of apparel such as jackets, tops, shorts and an iPod Nano armband, to bring together the Nike iPod experience with waterproof pockets that accommodate iPod Nano. They are designed to make the device easily operable while staying tuned to your music during an active workout. The Nike iPod Sport Kit retails at about $29 (US).

However the kit requires a Nike+ shoe as well as an iPod Nano with a USB 2.0 port and Mac OS® X version 10.3.9 or later and iTunes 6.0.5; or a Windows PC with a USB 2.0 port and Windows 2000, XP Home or Professional (SP2) and iTunes 6.0.5.

Well, what exactly are you waiting for? Get yourself the Nike iPod kit and step up your workout today.
